The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st Respondent to consider petitioner’s representations dated 12.12.2024 and 22.05.2025 seeking correction of date of birth in the 10th and 12th Standard records. 3. Learned counsel for petitioner would submit that petitioner was born on 27.07.1999 at Egmore, Chennai, however at the time of admission to 2nd respondent school, petitioner’s date of birth was erroneously given as 07.08.1999 instead of 27.07.1999. It is stated that petitioner’s original birth certificate reflects the correct date of birth whereas all the educational certificates reflect petitioner’s date of birth as 07.08.1999. Based on the birth certificate, petitioner applied for correction of date of birth in Aadhar Card, PAN card and the same was duly corrected. Thereafter, petitioner submitted a representation before 1st respondent on 12.12.2024 seeking correction of date of birth in school certificates by enclosing all necessary documents, however, 1st respondent returned petitioner’s representation seeking submission of additional documents. Petitioner thereafter proceeded to submit another representation on 22.05.2025 enclosing necessary documents to 1st respondent, however, the same https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No.25348 of 2026 __________ is stated to be kept pending. Hence this writ petition. 4. At the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that petitioner's representation dated 22.05.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner, within a time period to be stipulated by this Court. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner. 5. In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider petitioner’s representation dated 22.05.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after issuing notice and after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner and any other interested persons within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order.
