By means of present writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs:- “(i) Issue a direction to the Assistant Collector, Rookree, District Haridwar/Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Roorkee, District Haridwar to ensure expeditous disposal of the petitioner’s application under Sections 29 & 41 of the U.P. Land Revenue, 1901, pending before him, within a fixed frame, preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt/production of certified copy of the order to be passed by this Hon’ble Court (Annexure No.1). (ii) Direct the concerned Lekhpal/Kanoongo/Revenue Staff to immediately submit their report before the Assistant Collector, Roorkee, District Haridwar, within a time bound manner as may be fixed by this Hon’ble Court.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner instituted an application under Sections 29 and 41 of the U.P. Land Revenue Act, 1901 before the learned Assistant Collector, Roorkee, Haridwar, in the month of July, 2025. The Assistant Collector, Roorkee, District Haridwar, on 29.07.2025, forwarded the said application to the revenue authorities for taking necessary action; however, till date, no report has been 2026:UHC:422 2 filed by the concerned revenue authorities. He further submits that the delay caused due to the inaction and casual approach of the concerned revenue officers is resulting in serious prejudice to the rights and lawful interests of the petitioner. 3. Today, learned State Counsel supplied the instructions dated 06.01.2026 before this Court. The same is taken on record. On instructions, he submits that the application was moved to the Assistant Collector, 1st Class Roorkee, who directed the Tehsildar, Roorkee to submit a clear cut report in the matter. The report was submitted by the Tehsildar, Roorkee on 27.12.2025 on the basis of which, it was directed to register the case and the notices have been issued for hearing of the case. 4. Heard learned counsel for the parties and carefully perused the record. 5. The present writ petition is accordingly disposed of with a direction to the Assistant Collector, 1st Class, Roorkee before whom the petitioner’s application is pending under Sections 29 & 41 of the U.P. Land Revenue, 1901, to decide it as expeditiously as possible, but not later than thirty days from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 6.
