LISA GILL, CJ (Oral): Grievance raised in this Writ Petition, purportedly filed in public interest, is that official respondents have illegally proposed the name of respondent No.6 for appointment as Kazi. It is submitted that under Kazis Act, 1880, it is incumbent upon the authorities to consult principal Muhammadan residents of the local area. However, no such consultation has been carried out. 2. Learned counsel for petitioner is unable to deny that no such objection has been raised by petitioner before official authorities and that, in fact, the appointment, till date, has not been made. HCJ & CGRJ WP(PIL)_11_2026 3. In the given facts and circumstances, we do not find any ground to interfere at this stage.
