JUSTICE NELSON SAILO ORDER Date : 27.04.2026 On 27.03.2026, Court passed the following Order: “BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE KARDAK ETE ORDER Date : 27.03.2026 Heard Mr. P. K. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner. Having considered that the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has issued 2 (two) duplicate Admit Cards/Pass Certificates containing different date of birth, i.e. 30.12.1962 & 30.12.1966, Mr. D. K. Roy, learned Standing Counsel, ASSEB, to produce the record. Ms. P. Das, learned Standing Counsel, Secondary Education Department, is present. As agreed to by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, list the matter on 27.04.2026.” Today, Mr. D. K. Roy, learned Standing Counsel, ASSEB, has produced the relevant records in original, wherein, the date of birth of the petitioner is entered as 30.12.1962 at Serial No. 33 of the Register. It is not a dispute that as per the Rules of ASSEB, any changes to be made in the date of birth has to be done by an appropriate application submitted within three (3) years from the date of commencement of the examination. Admittedly, the petitioner has not submitted such an application. Page No.# 3/3 Under the circumstances, the prayer for correction of the date of birth of the petitioner to the date of 30.12.1966 in terms of the Birth Certificate which she has acquired after appearing in the Matriculation would not be possible. Accordingly, this Court does not find the petitioner to have a legitimate grievance, the writ petition therefore stands dismissed. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
