14.03.2026 The claimant/Mr. Nagen Kalita is present in person. Ms. Sapon RM represents the United India Insurance Co. Ltd. The original award by the MACT No. 2 Kamrup, Metro was for an amount of Rs. 10,80,180/- along with the interest @ 9% per annum from the date of filing. Today, a settlement has been arrived at for a total compensation amount of Rs. 10,50,000/- as full and final settlement to be paid by the insurer. Accordingly, the insurer shall deposit a sum of Rs. 10,50,000/- before the Registry of this Court which shall be released to the claimant on proper identification. In case, the amount is deposited within 45 days from today, no interest shall be available. However, in case of delay beyond that, statutory amount shall apply. Appeal is closed on settlement. Statutory deposit, if any, be refunded to the insurer on satisfaction of this settlement.
