Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record. 2. A case is made out in the writ petition that a complaint was lodged narrating an incident of 25th August, 2026 and it was alleged that petitioner’s father was forcibly taken to a club and a sum was demanded which petitioner’s father could not pay resultantly he was severely beaten up. Petitioner’s father sustained injuries and he was admitted in hospital. 3. Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 30th September, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Sutahata Police Station, Purba Medinipur and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication is made over to learned advocate representing petitioner. 4. It is disclosed in the said communication that on receipt of complaint Sutahata Police Station Case No.337 of 2026 dated 8th September, 2026 was registered and pursuant thereto investigation is continuing. During course of investigation one accused, namely, Arup Parua was arrested on 20th September, 2026 and at present he is in custody. [2] 5. In view of steps taken by the concerned police authority at this stage no further order need be passed. 6. However, Investigating Officer is directed to expedite the investigation in aforesaid criminal prosecution and take the same to its logical conclusion. 7. Writ petition stands disposed of. 8.
