Sl. No.26 08.10.2026 BP Ct. 237 CRR 2376 of 2026 Saraswati Ghosh Vs. The State of West Bengal Ms. Sonali Das Mr. Sk. Sahil Ahad ..for the petitioner Mr. Ramoshis Mukherjee Mr. Anurag Sardar ..for the State The petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of Sessions Case No. 99 of 2019, pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 3rd Court, Bankura, arising out of Sonamukhi Police Station Case No. 155 of 2015 dated October 8, 2015, under Sections 147, 148, 149, 448, 427, 436 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner is the de facto complainant in the said case. It is submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that, although the case was committed to the Court of Session in the year 2019, the charge has not yet been framed. It appears that there are, in all, 36 accused persons in the said case. It further appears that, on the last date of hearing, i.e., August 6, 2026, 33 out of the 36 accused persons were present before the learned Sessions Judge, while the remaining three accused persons were absent. In view of the long pendency of the case, I dispose of CRR 2376 of 2026 with a direction upon the learned Additional Sessions 2 Judge, 3rd Court, Bankura, to frame the charge on the next date fixed for hearing. In the event the charge cannot be framed on the next date for any reason, the learned Sessions Judge shall endeavour to frame the charge within a period of three months thereafter, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
