Petitioners state that the property of the petitioners was acquired for the purpose of construction of the highway and a land acquisition proceeding being LA Case No. II/9(A) of 1976-77 was initiated. The petitioners allege that the compensation amount has not yet been disbursed to the petitioners. The petitioner submitted a representation before the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Alipore dated October 16, 2025 praying for release of compensation amount in favour of the petitioners. 2 Heard the learned advocate for the State on such submission. Without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioners in the representation dated October 16, 2025, this writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Special Land Acquisition Officer, South 24 Parganas, being the 3rd respondent herein, to consider the representation of the petitioners dated October 16, 2025 and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners or their authorized representative and to communicate the reasoned order to the petitioners as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of three weeks from the receipt of a server copy of this order along with a copy of the representation dated October 16, 2025.
