Judgment and Order on : : 7th October, 2026. Rishad Medora, J.: 1. The petitioner has filed the present writ petition praying for, inter alia, a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent authority to make payment of his dues. 2. It is the petitioner’s case that the petitioner is a Government contractor and has been doing different types of works for the State Government by participating in various tenders floated by the State of West Bengal from time to time. W.P.A . 24406 of 2025 3. In this connection, the State of West Bengal had floated two tenders for a flower market in 2020. The petitioner participated in such tender process and emerged as the highest bidder. Two work orders were issued in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner duly completed the works in respect of the aforesaid two work orders. The petitioner also submitted his bills to the concerned respondent authorities. However, the petitioner has not received payment from the respondent nos.2 and 4 till date. By his advocate’s letter dated March 3, 2025, the petitioner once again requested the respondent nos.2 and 4 to make the aforesaid payment to him. 4. Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that as on date, a sum of Rs.26,11,067/- is due and payable to the petitioner in respect of the works executed by him in connection with the aforesaid two work orders. He prays that appropriate orders should be passed by this Court. 5. Learned advocate representing the State authorities does not dispute this position. He fairly submits that he has taken instructions from his clients and his clients seek some time to make payment of the aforesaid sum of Rs.26,11,067/- to the petitioner. 6. In view of the aforesaid submissions made by the learned advocate representing the parties, WPA 24406 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the respondent nos.4 and 6 and/or their concerned Departments to make the aforesaid payment of Rs.26,11,067/- to the petitioner by November 30, 2026. 7. There will be no order as to costs. W.P.A . 24406 of 2025 8. Since I have not called for any affidavit, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have not been admitted by the respondents. 9. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this judgment and order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this judgment and order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities. (RISHAD MEDORA, J.) pp
