This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to sanction and pay/disburse the arrears of additional family pension at 20% of family pension for the period from 27.05.2014 to 26.05.2018 at the age 80 to 84 and further to sanction and pay disburse the additional family pension rate of 30% of family pension for the period from 27.05.2018 to 26.05.2023 and further to sanction and pay disburse the additional family pension rate of 40% of family pension for the period from 26.05.2023 to 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD)No.16247 of 2026 2026 for the future months also as per the GO MS No. 42 Finance (Pension) Department Government of Tamil Nadu without any further delay and consequently to provide enhanced family pension to the petitioner. 3. 3. When the matter was taken up for consideration on 15.06.2026, this Court passed the following order: “Notice before admission. 2. Mr.C.Rajakumar, learned counsel takes notice for respondents 1 to 3 and seeks time for getting instructions. 3. This is a case, where the petitioner is claiming for additional family pension at the rate of 20% on completing the age of 80 years and additional family pension of 30% on completion of 85 years and then additional family pension of 40% on completion of 90 years in terms of G.O.(Ms.)No. 42, Finance (Pension) Department dated 07.02.2011. 4. The learned counsel appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submits that there is no dispute about the entitlement of the petitioner for additional family pension. It is only because of the financial constraints, the same could not be paid. 5. In the light of the above, the respondents are directed to pass orders granting additional pension from the respective dates of entitlement of the 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD)No.16247 of 2026 petitioner and produce a copy of the same before this Court for further consideration by next date of hearing. 6. List the matter on 29.06.2026 in the admission list.” 4. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, it was brought to the notice of this Court by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents that the additional pension to which the petitioner is entitled has been calculated and determined at Rs.1,57,976/-. The said amount has also been credited to the petitioner's Savings Bank account on 02.07.2026. 5. In the circumstances, the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed, and accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed. If the petitioner has any grievance regarding the amount paid, it is always open to the petitioner to work out her remedy in the manner known to law.
