The petitioner, while working as Grade-II Police Constable, was involved in a criminal case, which was registered in Crime No.129 of 2013. Consequently, the petitioner was suspended from service on 17.05.2013. After a fullfledged trial, the petitioner was convicted in C.C.No.527 of 2013 on the file of the Additional Mahila Court, Thirunelveli vide judgment dated 14.11.2014. Thereafter, on 06.01.2015, the petitioner was dismissed from service. 4. However, it was thereafter the petitioner filed an appeal against the said conviction and further revision before this Court. Finally, the petitioner was acquitted from the charges levelled against him. Consequently, the petitioner was reinstated into service on 25.02.2026. During the pendency of the criminal case, the petitioner was placed under suspension on 17.05.2013 and continued as such till the date of his dismissal from service on 06.01.2015. In spite of reinstating the petitioner into service consequent upon his acquittal, according to the petitioner, the period during which he was out of service, that is, the period of suspension and the period of dismissal from service have not been regularised as per Rules. As the respondent has not taken any action on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition. 5. Mr.M.Dinesh Hari Sudarsan, learned Counsel for Government appearing for the respondent submits that the respondent would consider the representation in accordance with law. 6.In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 17.06.2026 submitted by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and pass orders in accordance with law.
