Lingwal (through video conferencing), Advocate for respondent nos. 2 & 3. 4. Petitioner is widow of late Ram Pravesh Sharma, who was employed as Peon on temporary basis in G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. According to the petitioner, her husband was appointed in the University in 2007 and other persons, who were appointed along with her late husband, were given regular status; while, petitioner’s husband was denied such status, without any just reason. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner points out that one Ganga Dutt Sharma and one Rehmuddin were identically placed as petitioner’s husband, who were given regular appointment in the year 2017-2018; while, petitioner’s husband could not be given such status and he died as temporary employee on 27.8.2024. Petitioner has submitted application for compassionate appointment and also for release of terminal benefits, including gratuity, 2026:UHC:41 pension, leave encashment etc. 6. Mr. S.S. Lingwal, learned counsel appearing for the University submits that since petitioner has sought a writ of mandamus and she has also made representations demanding the terminal benefits and also for compassionate appointment, therefore, the writ petition can be disposed of by directing the competent authority in the University to take decision in the matter. 7. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the Registrar, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to take decision on the pending representation of the petitioner, as per law, within six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
