GP FOR SERVICES I The Court made the following: 3 THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE NYAPATHY VIJAY WRIT PETITION NO: 17401/2026 O R D E R: The present writ petition is filed to declare the action of the 2nd respondent in not disposing the Appeal dated 16.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner to the 2nd respondent, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The facts in this case are as follows: The petitioner while working as Inspector of Police, was issued a charge memorandum on 28.08.2024 under Rule 20 of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1991, wherein the allegation was that the petitioner had exhibited reprehensive conduct by making perfunctory investigation in Cr.No.655 of 2021 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 332, 427 read with 149 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 before Mangalagiri Rural Police Station, Guntur District. Pursuant thereto, after due enquiry, the petitioner vide orders dated 08.01.2026, was imposed penalty of dismissal from service. Questioning the same, the petitioner filed departmental appeal before respondent No.2 on 16.02.2026 seeking reinstatement. 3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Services-I, appearing for the respondents. 4. Considering the relief sought, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.2 to dispose of the appeal of the petitioner as expeditiously 4 as possible, preferably within a period of three (03) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
