07.10.2026 Item no. 15 Ct. No.237 AKG
C.R.R. 4275 of 2026 Rabindra Narayan Roy & Ors. Vs. The State of West Bengal & Anr.
Mr. Supratic Roy, Mr. Subhamoy Patra, Ms. Mahuya Maity
…for the Petitioners Mr. Kallol Mondal, Ld. P. P. Mr. Subir Ganguly …for the State
Though the instant revisional application has been filed seeking quashing of the proceedings in G.R. Case No. 286 of 2020, arising out of Tamluk Police Station Case No. 87 of 2020 dated February 7, 2020, pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Court, Tamluk, Purba Medinipur, at the time of hearing of this application, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners has confined his submissions to the limited prayer for expeditious disposal of the said proceeding. The petitioners are the accused in the said case. It is submitted before this Court that, although the charge- sheet was filed in the said case in the year 2020, there has been no substantial progress in the trial till date. The evidence of three prosecution witnesses has already been recorded. I find substance in the submission made by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners.
2 In view of the aforesaid, I find no justification in keeping the instant revisional application pending. Accordingly, the instant revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Magistrate in the Court below to make all endeavour to conclude the trial at the earliest possible opportunity, preferably within a period of one year from the date of communication of this order, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. Accordingly, CRR 4275 of 2026 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
