The present writ petition has been filed seeking for correction of the name of the petitioner’s minor son appearing on the birth certificate issued by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. 2. The Municipality is represented. 3. Having regard the learned advocate appearing for the respective parties, I find that the representation addressed to the Sub-Registrar (Birth and Death) dated 09.05.2026 is pending consideration before the Municipal Authorities. Having regard thereto, I direct the concerned respondent to decide on the petitioner’s representation by giving an opportunity of hearing. In the process of aforesaid, the officer 2 concerned shall provide appropriate opportunity to the petitioner to disclose additional documents if it is necessary for the purpose of deciding such representation. 4. It is expected that the decisions in this regard shall be taken by the concerned respondents within four weeks. 5. Accordingly, WPA 12855 of 2026 stand disposed of. (Raja Basu Chowdhury, J.)
