1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record.
2. By presenting this writ petition petitioner being one of the accused in Maheshtala Police Station Case No. 559 of 2026 dated 7th August, 2026 has prayed for certain protections while investigating the case.
3. However, it has been pointed out by Mr. Majumder, learned Additional Advocate General representing State respondents that though protections are prayed for in connection with Maheshtala Police Station Case No. 559 of 2026 dated 7th August, 2026 but no prayer is couched in the writ petition seeking quashment of said FIR.

4. On perusal of prayers couched in the writ petition this Court finds substance in the contention made on behalf of State respondents that there is no prayer seeking quashment of aforesaid FIR. However, certain directions are prayed for which would provide protection to the petitioner while investigating aforesaid criminal prosecution by the concerned investigating agencies.
5. From the submissions made on behalf of parties it further appears that petitioner has appeared before the investigating officer pursuant to two notices which are at pages 44 and 45 of the writ petition. This Court is apprised that petitioner complied with both the notices issued in the month of August, 2026 in terms of Section 179 BNSS, 2023.
6. It appears that this writ petition is filed in order to get certain benefits so far petitioner is concerned being one of the accused while investigating aforesaid case.
7. Court directs concerned investigating officers to take necessary steps and investigate the case in accordance with law but relevant norms shall be adhered to while issuing notice to petitioner and during interrogation.
8. With the aforesaid observations writ petition stands disposed of.
