07.10.2026 Item no. 16 Ct. No.237 AKG C.R.R. 4276 of 2026 Rabindra Narayan Roy & Ors. Vs. The State of West Bengal & Anr. Mr. Supratic Roy, Mr. Subhamoy Patra, Ms. Mahuya Maity …for the Petitioners Mr. Kallol Mondal, Ld. P. P. Mr. Subir Ganguly …for the State Though the instant revisional application has been filed seeking quashing of the proceedings in G.R. Case No. 2547 of 2020, arising out of Tamluk Police Station Case No. 737 of 2020 dated December 19, 2020, pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Court, Tamluk, Purba Medinipur, at the time of hearing of this application, the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners has confined his submissions to the limited prayer for expeditious disposal of the said proceeding. The petitioners are the accused in the said case. It appears that there are ten prosecution witnesses in the said case. It is submitted before this Court that the charge-sheet was filed in the said case on April 30, 2021. It is further submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners that, although the learned Magistrate in the Court below, by an order dated November 7, 2024, fixed November 7, 2025 for recording the 2 evidence of the prosecution witnesses, till date, none of the prosecution witnesses has been examined. I find substance in the submission made by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. In view of the aforesaid, I find no justification in keeping the instant revisional application pending. Accordingly, the instant revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Magistrate in the Court below to make all endeavour to conclude the trial at the earliest possible opportunity, preferably within a period of two years from the date of communication of this order, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. Accordingly, CRR 4276 of 2026 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
