The present petition has been filed under Article-226 of the Constitution of India directing the respondents to grant the benefit of enhanced ration money allowance and enhanced annual dress allowance in favour of the petitioner to bring parity with his counterparts under the Tripura State Rifles & Tripura Police, who have been granted such enhancements vide letter dated 27.11.2024 and notification dated 29.11.2024. [3]
The petitioner has prayed for the following reliefs:
“(i) Issue rule upon the respondents to show cause as to why a writ in the nature of mandamus and/or order/orders, direction/directions of like nature shall not be issued whereby directing the respondents to grant the benefit of enhanced ration money allowance and enhanced annual dress allowance in favour of the petitioner, to being parity with his counterparts under the Tripura State Rifles & Tripura Police, who have been granted such enhancements, vide letter dated 27.11.2024 and notification dated 29.11.2024 (supra). (ii) Call for the records pertaining to the instant writ petition from the custody of the respondents.
(iii) Make the rules absolute after hearing the parties.” [4]
The case of the petitioner is that he has prayed for necessary direction from this Court to grant the benefit of enhanced ration money allowance and enhanced annual dress allowance in favour of the him to bring parity with his counterparts under the Tripura State Rifles & Tripura Police, who have been granted such enhancements vide letter dated 27.11.2024 and notification dated
29.11.2024. [5]
Hence, the present petition has been filed by the petitioner before this Court for redress. [6]
In view of above and having heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court is of the view that ends of justice would be met if the matter is disposed of by directing the concerned respondents to consider the representation filed by the petitioner dated 05.10.2025 along with forwarding letter dated 07.10.2025 in accordance with law, facts and rights be decided as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months from the date of the receipt of the copy of this order. Accordingly, the same is ordered. Further, it is made clear that whatever the decision is taken by the concerned respondents, the same may be communicated to the petitioner. [7]
As such, the present petition stands disposed of. As a sequel, miscellaneous application, pending if any, shall stand closed. DR.T. AMARNATH GOUD, J
