For Petitioners : Mr. S.M.Ramasiva For R-1 and R-2 : Mrs. K.R.Shivashankari, Counsel for State O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the petitioners' complaints dated 22.07.2022 and 15.12.2025 by considering Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, within a time stipulated by this Court. 2. Heard Mr. S.M.Ramasiva, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, and Mrs. K.R.Shivashankari, learned Counsel for the State, who takes notice on behalf of the first and second respondents. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.18762 of 2026 3. Since no adverse order is going to be passed against the third respondent, notice to him is dispensed with. 4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners had submitted complaints to respondent Nos.1 and 2 on 22.07.2022 and 15.12.2025. However, till date, the official respondents have not taken any action on the said complaints. 5. The learned counsel for the petitioners further submitted that, without going into the merits of the petitioners' claim, it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to respondent Nos.1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the petitioners' complaints dated 22.07.2022 and 15.12.2025 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioners' claim, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos.1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the petitioners' complaints dated 22.07.2022 and 15.12.2025, in the light of Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, after affording an opportunity of hearing to all necessary parties, if required and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
