The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners' father, namely, Kanthaiah, was a sub-lessee under the original lessees, namely, Noordeen and Katchi Mohamed, and that, after his demise, the petitioners have been continuing the business carried on by their father in the Temple premises for a considerable length of time. 3. It is further submitted that the petitioners have been displaced pursuant to an interim order passed by the Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(MD) No.26210 of 2025. 4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioners are not entitled to the relief sought. However, he further submits that the petitioners' claim for allotment of shops in the place of the original lessees, namely, Noordeen and Katchi Mohamed, will be considered after verifying whether any arrears of lease rent are payable by the petitioners as sub-lessees and, thereafter, appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law. _____________ Page No. 2 of 4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD) Nos.18680 and 18686 of 2026 5. The said submission is recorded. 6. In view of the above, these Writ Petitions are disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioners' respective representations dated 13.02.2026, on their own merits and in accordance with law, after verifying the petitioners' claim as stated above, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from today. While doing so, the respondent shall also bear in mind the fact that the petitioners are eking out their livelihood by selling fancy items near the Temple premises. There shall be no order as to costs.
