Mr. Sarangam Chakraborty
…for the State respondents
Mr. Prateep Bera

…for the respondent nos. 5-7
1) Affidavit of service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record. 2) By presenting this writ petition, prayer is made for directing concerned police authorities to take steps since it is alleged that daughter-in-law of petitioner being respondent no. 5 is ill-treating petitioner and pressuring him to execute gift deed thereby transferring his property in favour of respondent no. 5. 3) State respondents and respondent nos. 5 to 7 are represented by learned advocates. 4) It is submitted by learned advocate representing respondent nos. 5 to 7 that respondent no. 5 left
2 matrimonial home on 2nd August, 2026 whereas complaint was lodged on 11th August, 2026 by petitioner. Moreover, it is submitted that based on complaint of respondent no. 5 criminal prosecution being Tiljala Police Station Case No. 422 dated 4th September, 2026 was initiated against petitioner, his wife and husband of respondent no. 5 being son of petitioner. 5) Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 27th September, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge of Joynagar Police Station, Baruipur Police District and same is taken on record. 6) It is disclosed in communication dated 27th September, 2026 that FIR was registered on the basis of complaint of respondent no. 5 and a case has been initiated being Tiljala Police Station Case No. 422 dated 4th September, 2026 under Sections 85/316(2)/351(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. 7) Therefore, it appears that as a counterblast to complaint lodged by respondent no. 5 giving rise to aforesaid criminal prosecution a complaint was lodged by petitioner on 11th August, 2026 when respondent no. 5 was not staying at her matrimonial home as she left matrimonial home on 2nd August, 2026. 8) Be that as it may, Inspector in-Charge of Joynagar Police Station being respondent no. 4 is directed to keep
3 vigil and to take necessary steps, if requires, for maintaining peace. 9) Writ petition stands disposed of.
