2. The case of the prosecution is that, on 21.06.2026 at about 2.50 p.m., during a routine vehicle check near ZuZuvadi Check Post, the respondent Police intercepted a private bus bearing Registration No.TN 90 M 1818 proceeding from Bangalore to Hosur. It is alleged that the accused attempted to flee on seeing the police party, but was apprehended and found in possession of 10 grams of Methamphetamine. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court and hence, prayed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), appearing for the respondent Police, reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the investigation is still pending. He would further submit that, if the petitioner is granted anticipatory bail, there is every likelihood of his absconding and indulging in similar offences in future. Therefore, he vehemently opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

5. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions. 6. From the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), it is seen that the investigation is still pending.
It is also evident that, if anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner, it is likely to have an adverse impact on society. Considering the antecedents of the petitioner, the nature of the allegations and the interest of society at large, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 07-07-2026 kv To 1.The Inspector of Police, PEW Hosur Police Station, Krishnagiri. 2.The Public Prosecutor Madras High Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
