The father of an eighteen year old girl has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition stating that his daughter went missing from 09.06.2026. 2. According to the petitioner, the detenu had a romantic relationship with the 4th respondent herein, who is seventeen years old. He would state that inspite of the advice of the elders and the police officials, the detenu after attaining majority had left the parental home and that he suspected illegal detention, by the 4th respondent. 3. Upon notice issued by us, the 4th respondent and his parents appeared before us. We interacted with the parents of the detenu as well as the parents of the 4th respondent. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 2026:MHC:2649 HCP No. 1132 of 2026 __________ 4. The 4th respondent was born on 07.10.2008 and he is not yet eighteen years. The detenu was born on 20.02.2008 and has completed eighteen years. Therefore, we suggested that it would be improper for the detenu/girl to stay in the house of the 4th respondent’s parents. 5. However, the detenu was not willing to go with her parents. She stated that she preferred to stay in a hostel while pursuing her higher education. 6. Recording the same, we close this Habeas Corpus Petition, as we find that the detenu is not in illegal detention. (A.S.M.,J.)
