While considering the prayer of the petitioner, the following facts are taken into account: (i) The petitioner is in judicial custody, and (ii) The case has been pending from the year 2024 and, out of a total of six witnesses, three witnesses have already been examined. The remaining three witnesses are the Investigating Officers and other official witnesses. The total quantity of contraband seized is 22 kilograms of ganja and the petitioner has two previous cases. 3. Considering all the above cumulatively, I am of the view that the learned I Additional Special Court for NDPS Cases, Chennai, can be directed to expedite the trial and complete the same as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than three months from the date of receipt of a web copy of this order. 4. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the health condition of the petitioner is also deteriorating.
