Mr. Rishab Ranghar, Advocate for the applicant. Mr. Vikas Kumar Guglani, Advocate, has put in appearance on behalf of respondent. 2. By means of the present Criminal Miscellaneous Application, the applicant seeks issuance of an appropriate direction to the learned Additional Principal Judge-I, Family Court, Dehradun for expeditious disposal of Criminal Case No.90 of 2024. 3. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the proceedings under Section 125 Cr.P.C. were instituted by the applicant through her mother in the year 2024 and the same were registered as Criminal Case No.90 of 2024. It is contended that, despite lapse of considerable time, the matter has not progressed effectively and the applicant is suffering hardship on account of non- adjudication of the claim for maintenance. 4. Per contra, learned counsel for the respondent submits that the application seeking interim maintenance was filed by the applicant only on 23.02.2026 and prior thereto no such application had been moved. It is further submitted that the respondent is ready to cooperate in the proceedings before the Family Court. 5. Having heard learned counsel for 2026:UHC:3511 the parties and upon perusal of the material available on record, this Court finds that the proceedings under Section 125 Cr.P.C. are pending since the year 2024. Considering the nature of proceedings, which are intended to provide immediate financial assistance and social justice to the claimant, such matters deserve expeditious adjudication. 6. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the controversy and keeping in view the overall facts and circumstances of the case, the present application is disposed of with a direction to the learned Additional Principal Judge- I, Family Court, Dehradun to make all possible endeavours to decide the interim maintenance application filed by the applicant, preferably within a period of two months’ from the date of production of a certified copy of this order. The main petition under Section 125 Cr.P.C. shall also be proceeded with and decided expeditiously, strictly in accordance with law. 7. It is further directed that unnecessary adjournments shall not be granted to either of the parties. Both the parties shall extend full cooperation in early disposal of the proceedings.
