[2026:JHHC:7885] IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No.210 of 2026 ------ Ranjit Ram @ Ranjeet Ram, aged about 35 years, Son of Late Santu Ram, resident of Village Barkibiura, Barki, Upertoli, P.O. Kurdeg, P.S. Kurdeg, District Simdega, Jharkhand .... .... …. Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand .... .... .... Opposite Party ------ CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR CHOUDHARY ------ For the Petitioner : Mr. Akhouri Awinash Kumar, Advocate For the State : Mr. Satish Prasad, Addl.P.P ------ Order No.03 Dated- 20-03-2026 Heard the parties. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Kurdeg P.S. Case No.47 of 2024 corresponding to G.R. No.82 of 2025 (S.T. Case No.37 of 2025) registered under Section 103 (1) and 109 (1) of the B.N.S., 2023. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner has committed the murder of Guruvaru Korwa and attempted to murder his own wife. It is submitted that the allegation against the petitioner is false. It is further submitted that the alleged occurrence took place during a scuffle between the petitioner and his wife. It is next submitted that no witness has been examined in this case. It is also submitted that charge-sheet has already been submitted in this case. It is lastly submitted that the petitioner has been in custody since 18.11.2024. Hence it is submitted that the petitioner be released on bail. Learned Addl. P.P. appearing for the State vehemently opposes the prayer for bail and submits that keeping in view the serious nature of allegation against the petitioner of committing the murder of Guruvaru Korwa and attempting to murder his own wife by stabbing them with knife, there is every chance of the petitioner absconding and tampering with the evidence if released on bail. It is, therefore, submitted that the petitioner ought not be released on bail. Considering the serious nature of allegation against the petitioner of committing the murder of Guruvaru Korwa and attempting to murder his own wife by stabbing them with knife as well as his chance of absconding and tampering with the evidence if released on bail, this Court is of the considered view that this is not a fit case where the above-named petitioner be released on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the above-named petitioner is rejected. (Anil Kumar Choudhary, J.) Dated- 20.03.2026-Animesh/
