We have heard both learned counsel today. We have, in our order dated 30.06.2026, recorded as follows: ‘Readthis order in continuation of and in conjunction with order dated 22.06.2026 which reads as follows: ‘The petitioner’s request was for transfer of convict from Palayamkottai to Salem Prison. We are, prima facie, not inclined to intervene in the order rejecting the request for transfer of the convict as the transfer had been made for administrative reasons and in the interests of security of the prison inmates. 2. However, since the petitioner, who is the convict’s wife, states that she is not able to travel all the way to Palayamkottai on account of her poor health, authorities are directed to explore the possibility of shifting the convict to any another prison closer to Salem. 3. List on 30.06.2026. 4. Registry to remove the caption ‘for dismissal’.‘ 2.The authorities have since transferred the convict to the Trichy Jail. Hence, we believe nothing be survives in this writ petition.
