Mr. Balram Sharma, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India and Mr. Jyotirmay Bhatt, learned counsel, appear and waive service of notice on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2, respectively. 2. When the matter was taken up in the forenoon session, learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1Whether reporters of print and electronic media may be allowed to see the order? Yes. 2 were directed to have instructions in view of urgency expressed by learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners. In the post-noon session, learned counsel for respondent No.2 placed on record instructions from the respondents in form of E-mail dated 12.01.2026, re: ‘Minutes of tenth meeting of the Committee constituted in terms of order dated 03.12.2024 passed by the Hon’ble Delhi High Court in WP(C) No.8691/2020 regarding disbursement of funds to National Sports Federations (NSFs) under scheme of assistance to NSFs’. The said E-mail records as under:- “In reference to the Minutes of the Tenth Meeting of the Disbursement Committee held on 17.12.2025, it is informed that, as per the request of the Sports Authority of India, the proposals pertaining to the disciplines of Karate, Kurash, Ju-Jitsu, and Handball have been removed from the agenda of the said meeting. The minutes of the said meeting with revised agenda as annexure-I are attached.” 3. On the basis of above minutes, learned counsel appearing for the respondents submit that the Government of India has taken a conscious decision for not funding the discipline of Handball. Another objection was taken pertaining to territorial jurisdiction of this Court in entertaining the writ petition. 3 4. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the decision of the respondents placed on record, the petitioners be permitted to withdraw the writ petition with liberty to assail the action of the respondents in accordance with law. Granting such permission, the present writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
