Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the State of Tamilnadu (Crl.Side) would submit that the petitioner's minor daughter Dhuriya Rahmath went missing from 22.06.2026 and a case in Crime No.218 of 2026 under the caption ''Girl Missing'' has been registered on the file of the 2nd respondent police station. Later, during the course of investigation, it came to light that the minor girl was kidnapped by one Umar Farook and the case was altered to one Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 5(c) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the minor girl was secured. Recording the above submission, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed with liberty to the petitioner to visit the detenue / minor girl if she wishes.
