For Petitioner : Mr.S.Harish For Respondents : Mr.R.Parthiban counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu 1/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.(MD) No.18430 of 2026 ORDER Mr.R.Parthiban, learned counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu, takes notice for the respondents. 2.This writ petition is disposed of at the time of admission, after hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents. 3.The petitioner is before this Court seeking a Mandamus to direct the respondents to rectify the erroneous entry made in the encumbrance certificate in respect of the property purchased by the petitioner on 12.09.2024. 4.In the description of the property, the extent of the property has been given as 1400 sq.ft., in S.No.427/12A. 5.The learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn attention to patta No. 3302, which also reflects the aforesaid survey number in the name of the petitioner for an extent of 1400 sq.ft.,. In the encumbrance certificate, the survey number has been given as 427/1 instead of 427/12A. In this regard, the petitioner has given a representation on 02.05.2026, which has not evoked any response till date. 6.The concern of the petitioner prima facie merits consideration for rectification or alteration of the entry as is reflected in the encumbrance certificate. 7.Considering the same, I direct the respondents to take action on the petitioner's aforesaid representation dated 02.05.2026 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 8.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
