JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned High Court Government Pleader is directed to take notice for the respondents. 2. The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent-Tahsildar to consider - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:6712 WP No. 3348 of 2026 the representations dated 09.06.2025 and 16.07.2025 given by the petitioners at Annexures – L, M, N & P. 3. It is the contention of the petitioners that the land in Sy.No.37 of Mallenahalli Grama, Channarayapatna, Devanahalli, Bengaluru Rural, measuring 30 guntas each was granted to the petitioners by the ‘Committee for Regularization of Unauthorized Occupation’ in the year 2005 and Saguvali Chit was also issued in favour of the petitioners in the year 2005. It is also contended that phodi proceedings have also been done in the year 2005. However, the names of the petitioners is not entered in the revenue records. Therefore, a direction is sought to the Tahsildar to enter the name of the petitioners in the revenue records. 4. Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition and submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioners, this Court is of the considered opinion that the 4th respondent-Tahsildar, Devanahalli Taluk, Bengaluru Rural District, is duty bound to consider the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:6712 WP No. 3348 of 2026 representations given by the petitioners and pass necessary orders for entering the name of the petitioners in the land revenue records. Needless to observe that the Tahsildar shall verify the original Grant Register, the Saguvali Chit Issue Register, and other contemporaneous records to find out about the genuineness of the grant made in favour of the petitioners. If it is found that the grant was made in favour of the petitioners, then the Tahsildar shall proceed to enter the name of the petitioners in the land revenue records in accordance with law. 5. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
