The case of the prosecution is that, on 17.02.2026, at about 01.40 p.m., the de facto complainant was travelling near Arcot bus stand, when the petitioner, who was part of a funeral procession, approached his vehicle, struck it with a garland and caused disturbance. It is further alleged that the petitioner abused the complainant in filthy language and criminally intimidated him. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that prima facie materials are available in the FIR and that upon completion of investigation, a final report will be filed.
4. In view of the statutory bar under Section 18 of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, this Court is of the firm view that the present application is not maintainable.
