Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. 3. Despite service of notice on the respondent and the respondent also having engaged a counsel, there is no representation on the side of the respondent. In fact, even yesterday, when the matter was listed, there was no representation. Hence, the matter was directed to be listed today under the caption ‘for orders’. Even today, there is no representation for the respondent. Hence, I proceeded to hear the learned counsel for the petitioner. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner-wife is having custody of a 16 months old male baby and she being a resident of Villivakkam, Chennai, it would be really inconvenient for her to attend the proceedings before the Family Court at Nagercoil. 5. I find that the petitioner has made out sufficient cause for seeking transfer of the proceedings initiated by the respondent-husband. Hence, I am inclined to accede the request for transfer. Accordingly, the Transfer Civil Miscellaneous Petition is allowed and the proceedings in IDOP.No.713 of 2025 is hereby withdrawn from the file of the Family Court, Nagercoil and transferred to the file of the Principal Family Court, Chennai and the Principal Family Court is directed to take up the matter on its own file or assign it to any https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis TR CMP No. 53 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 of the additional Family Courts at Chennai, considering the workload of the Family Courts functioning at Chennai.
