Judgment (Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.M.Subramaniam J.) The writ order dated 15.02.2021 made in W.P.No.3135 of 2021 is under challenge in the present intra Court Appeal. 2.The State preferred the present Appeal mainly on the ground that the employee is not entitled to claim 12% interest on belated settlement of terminal benefits. However, perusal of the impugned order would show that a direction was issued to the appellant authorities to consider the representation submitted by the respondent on 08.12.2020 and pay interest at the appropriate rate for the delayed period within a period of eight weeks. An employee is entitled to claim interest on belated settlement of terminal benefits. Therefore the authorities have to consider and pay the admissible interest under the rules applicable in respect of belated settlement of terminal benefits. 3.In view of the above position, the Writ Appeal deserves no merit
consideration and consequently stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
