The case of the prosecution is that on 24.05.2026 at about 8.30 a.m., when the respondent Police were on surveillance duty near Balakrishnapuram Flyover, Gummidippoondi, the petitioner abused the respondent Police, threatened them with a knife and deterred them from discharging their duties. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court and ready to co-operate for investigation. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and, submitted a list containing twenty-one previous cases pending against the petitioner. Hence, he strongly opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 5.A perusal of the list reveals that most of the cases have either been disposed of or referred. Therefore, taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner has been incarcerated since 24.05.2026, this court is of the firm view that his further custody is not necessary for the purpose of investigation. Consequently, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner with certain conditions. 6. Accordingly, the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his executing a bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only), with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Gummidipoondi, and subject to the following conditions: https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17730 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 [a] the sureties shall affix their photographs and Left Thumb Impression in the Application for Surety ship [Judicial Form No.46 annexed to 'The Criminal Rules of Practice, 2019'].
