The petitioner is working as Lecturer (Literature) at Shree Devi Sampad Adhyatm Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Parmarth Niketan, Swargashram, Rishikesh, District Pauri Garhwal. 2. Earlier the said institution was a Sanskrit College and its status was enhanced to a Sanskrit Degree College by Government Order dated 11.12.2025. The case of the petitioner is that, as a result of the status of the institution having been enhanced to a Degree College, the Government Order dated 15.10.2012 would become applicable, whereunder any teacher working 1 2026:UHC:1273-DB in State Universities, Government Colleges and Government Aided Private Colleges, engaged in classroom teaching, is entitled to work upto the age of 65 years. 3. It is submitted that if the petitioner is given the benefit of the said Government Order, he would retire in the year 2031 whereas if the age of superannuation is treated as 60 years he would retire on 31.03.2026. The petitioner has already made representation on 02.02.2026 to the State Government in this regard but no decision has been taken in the matter so far. 4. Learned Chief Standing Counsel appearing for the State and Shri Ashish Joshi, learned counsel appearing for respondent nos.3 and 4 state that the representation filed by the petitioner would be considered before 31.03.2026. They also submitted that respondent no.1 would be competent to take decision in the matter. 5. Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no.1 to take decision on the representation of the petitioner dated 02.02.2026 within a period of four weeks from today and not later than 31.03.2026. 2 2026:UHC:1273-DB 6. The petitioner shall file a true copy of the instant order along with copy of the representation before respondent no.1 within one week from today. 7.
