CRL OP No. 16821 of 2026 ORDER This petition is filed for transferring the investigation in Crime No.77 of
2026. 2.It is seen that when the accused is said to have wrongly represented about his social status employment etc., when the arrangement for the marriage was made, eight sovereigns of gold chain was also given to the accused, it turned out that the accused was fake person giving out false particulars. Therefore the attempt was stopped and the case is registered in Crime No.77 of 2026 under Sections 294(b), 420, 506(1) of IPC. Absolutely nothing is done by the respondent police and the petitioner had been deprived by the same and the victim had already attempted to commit suicide, inspite of that nothing has been done. 3.The learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) would submit that the FIR is dated 04.06.2026 and steps are taken to complete the same. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that neither the jewel was recovered nor any steps taken to apprehend the accused. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
CRL OP No. 16821 of 2026 5.In view of the submissions made, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sethiathope is directed to personally supervise the investigation. Let expeditious steps be taken for proper investigation in Crime No.77 of 2026. After due investigation, let the final report be filed as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than three months from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order. 6.This Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
