M.Shanthi W/o.Mani 35A, North St, Karattupalaiyam Paramathivellur Taluk Namakkal ..Respondent(s) __________ Page2 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24350 of 2026 PRAYER: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to cancel the patta wrongly issued in favour of respondents 3 to 8 in respect of Survey Nos.420/1B, 420/1C and 420/1D, Paramathi Village, Paramathivellur Taluk, Namakkal District and consequently direct the 1st respondents to rectify the error in patta No.2165 by restoring the correct total extent of 3.00 acres which was wrongly given as 245.89 cents by the 2nd respondent in survey No.420/1A as per the Old A.Register, on considering the petitioner’s representation dated 09.04.2025. Pachaiyappan Government Counsel for R1 and R2 ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 09.04.2025. 2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner submitted a representation dated 09.04.2025 requesting to cancel the patta wrongly issued in favour of respondents 3 to 8 in respect of survey Nos.420/1B, 420/1C and 420/1D, paramathi village, Paramathivellur Taluk, Namakkal District and to __________ Page3 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24350 of 2026 rectify the error in patta No.2165 by restoring the correct total extent of 3.00 acres which was wrongly given as 245.89 cents by the 2nd respondent in Survey No.420/1A as per the Old A.Register. However, the same has not been considered till date. Challenging the inaction on the part of the 1st respondent, the petitioner has approached this Court. 3. The learned Government Counsel appearing for the official respondents submitted that a detailed enquiry has been done and the 2nd respondent submitted a report in this regard and hence, appropriate orders will be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the 1st respondent /Revenue Divisional Officer, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.04.2025. The 1st respondent shall afford a fair hearing, after issuing due notice to the petitioner and any other interested parties, if any, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law taking into consideration the report of the Tahsildar, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. __________ Page4 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24350 of 2026 5.
