WP No. 24627 of 2026 PRAYER: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to survey the lands of petitioner comprised in Survey No. 33/2- 0.38.0 Ares 0.94 cents situated at Kulirsunai village, Anniyur Sub Division, Vikravandi Taluk, Villupuram District as per the application dated 13.03.2026 along with police protection within stipulated time frame as fixed by this Court. ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner’s application dated 13.03.2026.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he submitted an online application dated 13.03.2026 to respondent Nos. 1 to 3, requesting them to survey his land measuring 0.38.0 Ares (94 Cents) comprised in Survey No. 33/2, situated at Kulirsunai Village, Anniyur Sub-Division, Vikravandi Taluk, Villupuram District, and to fix boundary stones with necessary police protection. WP No. 24627 of 2026 on the part of respondent Nos. 1 to 3, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the
submissions made on either side, this Court directs the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.03.2026, conduct a survey of the subject property measuring 0.38.0 Ares (94 Cents) comprised in Survey No. 33/2, situated at Kulirsunai Village, Anniyur Sub-Division, Vikravandi Taluk, Villupuram District, and fix boundary stones. The respondents 2 and 3 shall afford a fair hearing, after issuing due notice to the petitioner and any other interested parties, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this
order. It is made clear that in the event that any disturbance arises, the surveying authority is empowered to seek the assistance of the 4th respondent / jurisdictional Police, and the 4th respondent / jurisdictional Police are mandated to provide necessary police protection. In the event that the subject land under survey is in the possession of either the petitioner or any other concerned party, __________ Page3 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
WP No. 24627 of 2026 the recovery of possession can only be effected through the due process of law before the competent Civil Court; under no circumstances shall the respondents engage in taking over possession after completing the survey to hand it over to any party. Such exercise shall be carried out exclusively through the competent Civil Court.
5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
