WP Crl. No. 1566 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide adequate police protection pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 18.04.2026. 2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the second respondent has not, so far, received any complaint from the petitioner. 3. A perusal of the representation submitted by the petitioner reveals that he was allotted the property comprised in Survey Nos.19/2, 19/3, 19/4, 19/5, 19/22, 19/7, 19/9 and 19/11, situated at Akkaraikodiveri Village, Gobichettipalayam Taluk, Erode District, under an agreement dated 30.04.2025 along with his brother. 4. According to the petitioner, he intends to put up a fence around the said property. However, his brother is objecting to the same. Therefore, the petitioner has sought police protection. 5. This Court is of the view that police protection cannot be granted for the purpose of fencing a property when there is a dispute between the co- allottees regarding the property. If any person obstructs the petitioner on the ground of title, possession, or boundary, it is always open to the petitioner to approach the competent Civil Court and seek appropriate relief. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
