For Petitioner(s): Mr.M.Jothikumar for Mr.K.Kanagendran For Respondent(s): Mr.M.Mohamed Riyaz Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for R1 ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the final report and further proceedings in C.C.No.110 of 2026. 2. Upon considering the gist of the allegations leading to the filing of the final report, it can be seen that when lockdown regulations were imposed by the Government of India during the Covid-19 pandemic, in violation thereof, the Petitioners conducted a sports event and as such the case was registered for the offences under Sections 147, 269, 270, 353 and 506(1) of IPC, Section 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Sections 51(a) and 51(b) of The Disaster Management Act, 2005. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17186 of 2026 __________ Page6 of 8 3. Firstly with reference to some of the offences, it can be seen that there is a bar and the authorities have to file a private complaint. Secondly, with reference to the cases that were registered during the Covid-19 pandemic period, the Government itself has already issued a G.O., by which, all the cases against the individuals are directed to be closed. 4. Considering all the above and the nature of the offences, I am of the view that this Criminal Original Petition deserves to be allowed. 5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The final report and all further proceedings in C.C.No.110 of 2026 on the file of the learned Judicial Maigstrate No.II, Jayamkondam shall stands quashed. No costs.
