05.10.2026 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.32 CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (A) 2663 of 2026 In Re : An Application for anticipatory bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Sonamukhi Police Station Case No. 202 of 2026 dated 02.07.2026 under Sections 318(4)/316(2)/316(5) /3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. And In Re : Pradip Ghughu ... Petitioner. Mr. Brajesh Jha, APP, Ms. Sreshtha Ghosh, Ms. Sanjana Jha ... For the State. On 17.09.2026 when the application was called, none appeared for the petitioner. Today also when the application has been called, none appears for the petitioner. Mr. Jha, learned APP appearing for the State submits that in respect of similarly placed accused person’s prayer for anticipatory bail was rejected on 24.08.2026 in CRM(A) 2709 of 2026. Having considered that the petitioner is similarly situated as the other accused person, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting anticipatory bail to the present petitioner. As such, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. The application for anticipatory bail, being CRM (A) 2663 of 2026, is, thus, dismissed. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 2 Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
