No.13478 of 2026 The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 16.05.2026 for the alleged offence under Sections 316(2), 319(2), 336(2), 296(2) and 351(2) of BNS, 2023, in Crime No.206 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner is ranked as A2. The petitioner joined hands with A1, impersonated an income tax officials, and collected a sum of Rs.16 lakhs from the defacto complainant for securing a job for his daughter, and the petitioner also retained a sum of Rs.6.5 lakhs as his individual share. Thereafter, they neither secured the job and nor repaid the amount. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner A1 in this case already released on bail by this Court in Crl.OP(MD)No.9872 of 2026 on 17.06.2026 and the petitioner has no bad antecedent. The learned Counsel For State of TN (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and on instructions, reported that there are totally 22 accused in this case and the petitioner herein is ranked as A2 and the investigation is still pending. He further submitted that the petitioner has no bad antecedents and A1 was already arrested and released on bail by this Court. However, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner. 5. I have gone through the FIR and also the connected materials. 6. Considering the nature of allegations against the petitioner, and also considering the facts that the petitioner is in custody from 16.05.2026 on wards and he has no bad antecedents and already the co- accused was released on bail, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner subject to certain conditions. 7. Accordingly, the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his executing a bond for a sum of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties, for a like sum to the satisfaction of 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP(MD).
