4. Present C-528 application has been filed seeking quashing of the summoning order dated 25.11.2021 as well as the entire proceedings of Criminal Complaint Case No. 2920 of 2020, titled “Dhruv Sharma vs. Beena Dhami”, under Sections 420, 494 and 495 I.P.C., pending before the Court of learned 5th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dehradun.

It is submitted that the applicant and respondent no. 2 were married on 14.02.2018; that, however, at the time of said marriage, the applicant was already married and her earlier marriage was subsisting; that, in view thereof, respondent no. 2 instituted proceedings under Section 11 of the Hindu Marriage Act for declaration of the marriage as null and void, which was registered as Case No. 498 of 2020; that, the said petition has been allowed vide
judgment and
order dated 18.02.2025, whereby the marriage
2026:UHC:3371 between the applicant and respondent no. 2 has been declared null and void. It is further submitted that against the said judgment, respondent no. 2 has preferred First Appeal No. 107 of 2025, which is presently pending before this Court.

It is further submitted that with the intervention of family members and well-wishers, the parties have amicably resolved their disputes and have decided to put an end to all litigations pending between them; that, in furtherance thereof, a settlement agreement dated 27.04.2026 has been executed between the parties out of their own free will and without any coercion; that, as per the terms of the settlement, both parties have agreed to withdraw all cases instituted against each other, whether pending before the trial court or this Court. A copy of the settlement agreement has been annexed as Annexure No. 2 to the present application.
7. Respondent no. 2 is present in person before this Court, duly identified by his counsel. Upon interaction, he has categorically stated that the matter has been amicably settled and that he does not wish to pursue the criminal proceedings against the applicant any further.
8. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material

9. Considering the nature of the dispute, which arises out of a matrimonial discord, and in view of the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in continuing the criminal proceedings.
10. Accordingly, the present C-528 application is allowed. The summoning
order dated 25.11.2021 as well as the entire proceedings of Criminal Complaint Case No. 2920 of 2020, titled “Dhruv Sharma vs. Beena Dhami” pending before the Court of learned 5th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dehradun, are hereby quashed.
11. Pending applications, if any, stand
disposed of accordingly.
