The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the 1st respondent herein in the impugned proceedings of the reply for the application of the 1st petitioner herein dated 19.09.2025 for issuance of Legal Heirship certificate through online Application Number TN-7202509191932 and quash the same and consequently direct the 1st respondent herein to issue legal Heirship Certificate to petitioners 1 and 2 herein, as daughter and son of deceased father Abdul Khadar, who died on 12.08.2025 and mother Amunu who died on 02.03.2024. 3. At the outset, it is submitted by learned counsel for respondents that https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24223 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 petitioners have a right of appeal in terms of G.O.Ms.No.478, Revenue and Disaster Management, Revenue Administration Wing, RA-3(2) Section, dated 29.09.2022, which the petitioners have not availed off. 4. When this was pointed out, learned counsel for petitioners sought liberty of this Court to approach the appellate authority and file an appeal in terms of G.O. Ms.No.478 dated 29.09.2022. 5. In that view of the matter, the writ petition stands disposed of. It is open to the petitioner to file appeal within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of this order. If any such appeal is filed within the stipulated period, the same shall be admitted and entertained by the appropriate authority without reference to limitation on merits and in accordance with law after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner and other interested parties as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
