Heard learned counsels for the parties. Learned counsel for the petitioner having EPIC no. UGR 2644920 submits that the petitioner’s name has been deleted from the electoral roll through the Special Intensive Revision 2026 on the ground of alleged suspicion of linkage with the earlier electoral roll. The petitioner preferred an appeal against such deletion before the District Magistrate and District Election Officer, Coochbehar which is still pending. The petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of the same. In view of the fact that the appeal preferred by the petitioner is pending for a considerable period of time, the District Magistrate and District Election Officer, Coochbehar, being the 3rd respondent herein, is directed to consider and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, in accordance with law.

It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the claim of the petitioner made in the appeal and all issues are left open to be decided by the 3rd respondent in accordance with law. The writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Suvra Ghosh,J)
