Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself. 3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner was working in the respondent Corporation and retired from service on 30.09.2023. Subsequently, the 15th Wage Settlement was entered into between the Management and the Trade Unions on 29.05.2025, pursuant to which the wages and pension were also revised with effect from 01.09.2023. Since the petitioner had retired on 30.09.2023, he is entitled for the difference in gratuity and earned leave salary as per the 15th Wage Settlement. It is the case of the petitioner that the terminal benefits have been settled belatedly. Therefore, the petitioner sent a representation which evoked no response so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed claiming interest for the belated payment of retirement benefits such as Gratuity and Earned Leave Salary and the difference amount of terminal benefits as per 15th Wage Settlement along with the interest at the rate of 18% per annum. 4. In view of the limited request made by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to pay interest at the rate of 6% p.a. for the belated https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24194 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 payment of retirement benefits from the date of retirement to till the date of actual disbursal of the retirement benefits of the petitioner and to pay to pay the applicable differential amount of terminal benefits towards the Gratuity and Earned Leave Salary to the petitioner, in accordance with the 15th Wage Settlement dated 29.05.2025, together with interest at the rate of 6% per annum within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
