The respondent, despite service of private notice and having entered through counsel, has not chosen to defend the transfer petition, In fact, I find that the vakalat filed on behalf of the respondent has also been returned by the Registry of this Court. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would invite my attention to the averments set out in the affidavit filed in support of the transfer petition and state that the petitioner is a resident of Chennai and her minor girl is also studying in a private School in Chennai, in support of which a document is also enclosed in the typed set of papers. Learned counsel would also point out to the fact that the respondent/husband is also a resident of Chennai and only in order to harass the petitioner, he has gone over to Thanjavur and filed HMOP No.27 of 2026 before the Family Court, Thanjavur, citing the address of the father of the petitioner/wife to be her address. 4. On going through documents filed in support of the typed set and the averments set out in the affidavit filed in support of the transfer petition and the arguments advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner, I am inclined to accede the request for transfer. 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis TR CMP No. 177 of 2026 5. Accordingly, Tr.C.M.P.No.177 of 2026 is allowed and the proceedings in HMOP No.27 of 2026 is withdrawn from the file of Family Court, Thanjavur and the same is transferred to Principal Family Court, Chennai. 6. The Principal Family Court, Chennai at its discretion shall take up HMOP No.27 of 2026 or assign it to any of the Additional Family Courts, subject to the pendency of cases and work load of Family Courts here at Chennai.
