While so, an inspection was held on 17.05.2022 and alleging certain lapse on the part of the petitioner in handling the file for sanction of patta, the second respondent issued a charge memo dated 01.06.2022. After an enquiry and based upon the explanations given by the petitioner, the second respondent passed an order dated 15.02.2026 imposing punishment of stoppage of increment for a period of six months with cumulative effect without proper appreciation of the facts. 3. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the appellate authority on 23.03.2026 for which there is no response till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court. 4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record. 5. Considering the relief now sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner’s appeal dated 23.03.2026 on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 23689 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.
