Mr. Shobhit Joshi, learned counsel for the petitioners. 2. Mr. Bhaskar Chandra Joshi and Mr. Himanshu Sain, learned A.G.A. for the State. 3. The petitioners Reshu Bajwan D/o Rajeev Singh and Amit Yadav @ Amit S/o Ram Sharan, resident of Haridwar, praying for protection since there is threat perception from the respondent nos. 4 to 7, who are the close relatives of the petitioner no. 1. The respondent no. 4 is the father and rest are the cousin brothers. 4. It is contended in the petition that both are major and are in love and decided to marry with each other but since there is threat perception, therefore, they could not solemnized their marriage. Both are present in court and are identified by their counsel. A written complaint was made on 30.04.2026 to the S.S.P., Haridwar, the copy of which is enclosed at Annexure-3 of the petition. 5. According to the documents as enclosed in the petition i.e. the Aadhar Card the date of birth of the petitioner no. 1 is 01.08.2007 and the date of birth of petitioner no. 2 is 28.09.2002. It is submitted that both are major. 6. Learned State counsel have not disputed on their age and submits that they are major. 7. Admittedly, both the petitioners are major and now they have decided to marry with each other without any compulsion. 8. In such view of the matter, instant writ petition is disposed of finally with the direction to the S.S.P. concerned that if there is any threat perception to the petitioners from respondent nos. 4 to 7 he shall assess and if he comes to the conclusion that there is threat perception from respondent nos. 4 to 7 take appropriate steps. 9. In addition to this, the S.H.O. concerned shall call upon respondent nos. 4 to 7 and advise 2026:UHC:3331 them not to take law in their hands. 10. No order as to costs.
